Alex Brown Chuch and his compatriots will wrap up their extremely busy year with a headline a hometown show this Thursday, Dec. 17 at The Roxy for KROQ Locals Only Showcase. Amaad Wasif and Chasing Kings will join them.

If you aren’t in LA, don’t fret, Sea Wolf will be coming to a town near you in 2010.

In recognition for his impressive and committed work with his charity the Pablove Foundation, Jeff Castelaz has been named by ABC World News with Charles Gibson as their “Person of the Week.”

Castelaz has been honored for his impressive and committed work with the Pablove Foundation, the charity he co-founded and named after his 6-year old son Pablo Thrailkill Castelaz, whose individual fight with cancer ended June 27, 2009, after a 13-month battle.

Castelaz, co-founder of esteemed Dangerbird Records, has dedicated himself to raising awareness and funds for children’s cancer, having just completed a triumphant 30-day bike expedition across the entire United States, titled Pablove Across America – his physical show of commitment to fighting this disease.

The already impressive line-up scheduled for the Pablove Across America benefit concert has expanded: Band of Horses and Sea Wolf have been added to the event, taking place at Avalon on Saturday, November 21. The evening will be dedicated to celebrating the triumphant return of Jeff Castelaz, co-founder of Dangerbird Records, who is currently pedaling his way across the country on a bicycle in order to raise awareness and funds for the Pablove Foundation. This charity is dedicated to child life programs as well as children’s cancer research and treatment.

The evening will host a slew of already announced supporters who will perform acoustic and semi-acoustic sets including, Tom Morello: The Nightwatchman, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Shirley Manson, ButchWalker, Tom Gabel (Against Me!), Jarrod Gorbel (the Honorary Title), Charlotte Martin and Songs For Kids. Tickets are $35 (GA) and $65 (VIP) and on sale now. All proceeds will go to the Foundation.

Castelaz’s pilgrimage is deeply rooted: he’s riding in honor and remembrance of his 6-year old son, Pablo Thrailkill Castelaz, whose individual fight with cancer ended June 27, 2009 after a 13-month battle. The Pablove Foundation was founded by Castelaz and his wife Jo Ann Thrailkill at the onset of their son’s diagnosis. Pablove Across America is Castelaz’s physical show of commitment to fighting cancer. His message is urgent: kids get cancer too. Families need help and hope – not only to find a cure, but also to increase joy and compassion during the day-to-day grind of treatment.

“Pablove Across America “is about standing up, hammering the pedals, speaking out – and FIGHTING back,” proclaims Castelaz. “We want people to support and spread our message that kids get cancer too. It’s not somebody else’s problem. As the Pablove Foundation community grows, we can make a sizable difference in peoples’ lives.”

A cross-cultural pastiche of indie-pop gems, Goldspot’s sophomore LP, And the Elephant Is Dancing,  is available now on iTunes. The follow up to the critically acclaimed debut Tally Of The Yes Men has already turned the heads of tastemakers, with Nic Harcourt calling the album ““a timeless and original gem,” while adding: “It’s as if George Harrison never left India.”

Frontman Siddhartha Khosla co-produced And The Elephant Is Dancing with Beach Boys engineer Jeff Peters, a fitting collaboration for Khosla, who grew up listenning to a mix of Bollywood oldies and Western rock bands. “Mohd. Rafi, Michael Stipe of REM, Kishore Kumar, and The Beatles all have inspired me ever since I could sing my first note,” Khosla reveals.

East Coast fans will have a chance to hear the new songs up close and personal as Goldspot kicks off a mini East Coast tour November 19 in New York.

Fitz & the Tantrums will perform their soul-drenched pop songs on KCRW’s “Morning Become Eclectic” Friday, November 6, prior to hitting the stage that evening at the Echo in front of their Los Angeles home crowd. This will warm up the crooner and his ensemble for their two-week stint opening for pop mainstays, Maroon 5.

Armed with just a $50 church organ and a two-bit microphone, Fitz & The Tantrums injected their debut EP, “Songs For A Break Up: Volume 1,” with equal parts Motown and 70s AM. Sure to make your toes tap and your heart swoon, Fitz has been described by Spin.com as “a confident crooner,” while they declared the songs, “Breakin’ the Chains of Love,” and “Don’t Gotta Work It Out,” as “two stone-legit, would-be standards.”

Frightened Rabbit are returning with their anticipated third album, The Winter Of Mixed Drinks. The follow-up to rambunctious Scots’ breakthrough LP The Midnight Organ Fight will be released worldwide in March 2010 on FatCat Records. The record’s first taste, “Swim Until You Can’t See Land,” is streaming now via FatCat’s website and will be digitally released November 17, followed by a 7-inch b/w “Fun Stuff” on December 8.
