To say Sea Wolf had a busy 2009 would be a gross understatement. The band released their sophomore LP, White Water, White Bloom on Dangerbird Records, toured the country in support of it and were part of the frenzy that is “Twilight: New Moon.” Their original song, “The Violet Hour,” was used in both the movie and found on the soundtrack alongside Thom Yorke, Grizzly Bear and Death Cab For Cutie…not too shabby. Cue 2010 and the band is picking right back up and will be hitting the road with The Album Leaf next month.
On February 3, the sextet traverse the West Coast going as far north as Vancouver and finishing up with a hometown show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. We for one can’t wait to hear Sea Wolf’s orchestral pop narratives side by side with The Album Leaf’s dreamy and cinematic soundscapes. It’s going to be like the aural equivalent of a winter sweater.
Keep an ear out for the band’s new single, “O Maria!” which will hit radio later this month and stay tuned for more info to find out when lead Wolf Alex Brown Church’s will be taking over an episode of MTV2’s “Subterranean.”
